There are very few services currently being delivered in north east Edmonton. In particular, despite the high percentage of people who identify as Aboriginal, there are no resources specifically for Indigenous people. Nor are there supports for newcomers, many of whom are attracted to the area because of low cost housing.

The C5 has space in a strip mall on Victoria Trail and 142 Avenue which houses Ubuntu; Boyle Street’s employment readiness Water Wings program; EMCN’s employment placement program within the North East Employment Hub; Family Time and the financial literacy Empower U program, both delivered by Norwood Child & Family Resource Centre.

We are in the process of expanding this space to become a community hub with resources that respond to community needs.

Our vision is for a community hub that is truly responsive and integrated into the community. The heart of the hub will be the community kitchen and attached flex space that facilitates community connections.
